Principal Consultant – Corporate Accounts

Position Overview
The Principal Consultant will be involved in the management of the full recruitment lifecycle including winning business (from within existing client accounts), client development, candidate attraction, interview, offer and placement management. The Principal Consultant must undertake all necessary measures to ensure that he/she keeps abreast of any developments related to their clients’ marketplace, the technology market(s) that he/she is working within and the legal and regulatory guidelines which exist within recruitment.

Main Duties of the role:

  • Solicit leads and referral data to identify new business opportunities
  • Maintain regular contact with key personnel within the client account(s) – e.g. resource and line managers
  • Attend meetings at client sites in order to secure closer working partnerships
  • Ensure that agreed service levels are met and exceeded
  • Constantly strive to identify additional opportunities within the client account(s)
  • Obtain new, qualified vacancies
  • Obtain comprehensive understanding of the vacancy and the originating client
  • Conduct thorough searches via the necessary recruitment practices (e.g. online searching, database search etc.)
  • Pre-screen candidates via the telephone and also face to face
  • Keep the database up to date with candidates’ details and updated CVs
  • Accurately and consistently identify candidates whose skills set , remuneration requirements and availability meet the criteria required
  • Negotiate salaries or rates with candidates
  • Take ownership of tracking personal activity and results
  • Keep abreast of all related legislation (e.g. contractual law, REC guidelines, EAA guidelines, etc.)
  • Maintain a current and relevant knowledge of the technology market(s) within one’s remit
  • Provide coaching and mentoring support to other Consultants if applicable
  • Any additional reasonable tasks that may be required by the company at any time


Experience Required:

  • A minimum of 48 months recruitment experience OR been measurably demonstrating Principal Consultant level performance
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent reasoning ability
  • Ability to demonstrate logical thinking
  • Ability to communicate with colleagues in a confident and professional manner
  • Planning and completion of work to agreed timescales
  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
  • High level of IT literacy in the use of Microsoft Office, with particular reference to Excel, Word and Outlook and the ability to pick up new systems easily (e.g. our in-house recruitment system)

Location:   Middlesex | Rate/Salary   £30k - £40k + Commission
